We begin this year with by welcoming and congratulating the new staff of
officers to oversee the Western Washington Chapter of the International Codes
Council. The officers of the Western Washington Chapter of the International
Code Council are all actively engaged in the building
profession.

Allen
Johannessen Past President: In November of 2004, Allen Johannessen hired on as plans examiner for the
City of Tukwila. Allen worked in the construction industry for 35 plus
years as supervisor for several construction companies throughout the
northwestern states. Prior to becoming a plans examiner for the City of
Tukwila, Allen owned his own construction company for over ten years. |

Kelly Tally President:
Kelly has spent 32
years in the construction industry; he has spent seven of those working as
a building inspector/ plans examiner. Kelly's past employment has
been with the jurisdictions of
Yakima
County
and the City of Auburn. He is currently employed by Pierce
County
.

Clark Watters
Vice President: For the past ten
years
Clark
Watters has been a building inspector and plans examiner for the City of
Federal Way. His previous experience was with Mason County as a
Plans Examiner
. He
has 17 years experience in the industry, of which he spent 9 involved
with the chapter and is a past chapter secretary. Before
involvement in the building industry, Clark ran his own business; Wet Pets
Fish & Aquarium.

Paul
Rice
Executive Vice President: Paul has be working for the City of
Gig Harbor for the past six years as an Inspector & Plans
Examiner, and is currently the City's Assistant Building Official &
Fire Marshal . Prior to municipal work Paul had over 20 years experience
as a commercial project manager and framer for a number of west
coast companies. He is an active member on a number of area
committees including; Pierce County Local Emergency Planning, eCity gov
Alliance Inspection Services, MBP Electronic Plan Review and the Pierce
County Interagency Compliance Team. This is Paul's first term as a
Director and he is eager to work towards the growth and
professional development of the Chapter. |

Sandy Gravseth Treasurer:
For five years
Sandy
Gravseth was actively involved with the construction industry, of which
the last three have been with
Pierce
County
where she is a Permit Tech. Before that she was a
Gig
Harbor
realtor. But her industry experience dates back to her first job; running
blue prints for The Design Center her fathers Lakewood
business. Chapter involvement lets her actively participate in
the industry and share in the wealth of knowledge the industry offers.
Her hobbies and passions include camping, team sports, and all things
boating and water. |

Fernando Fernandez Secretary:
For over the past 13 years, Fernando Fernandez has
watched the
City of Federal Way
grow from its infancy to its current stature. His current
position is as one of its plans examiners/building inspectors, but has
previously been employed as a land use tech and as a development
specialist. He has been a chapter member for the past three years
and sees the chapter as vital in promoting awareness of the many facets of
code enforcement in the building industry. This is his first
position as a chapter officer. His favorite hobby is bass fishing.
